Local news group, 2Trom News Group have today announced plans to axe half of their already skeleton 37 staff who are split between their Chelmsford and Barking bases.
The newspaper and digital publisher, who through their ownership and management of various titles such as Essex TV, London Post, UK Power 100, The Daily Brit and London TV publish news and current affairs across the whole of the UK made the announcement this evening.
Viktor Tokarev of 2Trom released a statement saying “It saddens me to have to announce that our already skeleton staff will get even smaller, We have struggled to move through this turbulent period and as such we need to axe half our 37 staff by January 2021 to ensure our survival.”
He added “We are in close talks with our line managers and relevant departmental heads to see what cutbacks we can make.”
2019 Accounts released by the Moscow Media Group backed company showed 71 full-time staff and 18 part-time where employed during the 2018-2019 financial year.
